Brief description/ Remarks:
In view of International Women’s Day, the Social Awareness & Environment Sustenance Club (NSS Unit) of Mandsaur University in association with Faculty of Agriculture organized an Invited lecture on the theme “Inspire Inclusion” for the students of Mandsaur University on 07.03.2024. The program started with lamp lightning ceremony by the guest Prof. (Dr.) D.B. Tyagi (Director Agriculture), Dr. Shekhar Jain (Director NSS) and all the faculty members present there. At the beginning of the program, Dr. Shekhar Jain, expressed welcome gratitude towards the expert Ms. Nisha Niranjan, Founder and CEO, VN Organics, Gwalior, M.P. and all the participants.
Afterwards, Prof. (Dr.) D.B. Tyagi briefed about the expert Ms. Nisha Niranjan and provided an overview of the significance of International Women’s Day and highlighted the importance of the theme “Inspire Inclusion” to the students. Following the program briefing, Ms. Nisha Niranjan, working on Mushroom based high protein food and nutraceutical products, shared her insights, her success story, hurdles and challenges she faced during the setting up of this startup and invaluable experiences with the students. Besides, she also discussed about various funding agencies available for startup. She also provided perspectives on women’s empowerment, gender equality and the challenges faced by women in various sectors. Her inspiring words resonated with the audience and reinforced the theme of the event. She motivated students to work hard and focus on their main target and also inspired not to give up.
After the keynote address, an interactive session was organized by Dr. Shekhar Jain with the aim to further explore the theme by engaging the students in discussions and addressing their queries. He facilitated an open dialogue where attendees had the opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions and exchange ideas. During this session, Ms. Nisha Niranjan resolved the queries raised by students regarding startup business. The whole program was anchored by the NSS student volunteers Ms. Lavina Vyas and Ms. Prachi from Life Sciences and successfully coordinated by faculty coordinator Mr. Dayashankar Singh (Coordinator campus 1) and Mr. Vinod Parihar (Coordinator campus 2), Ms. Teena Yadav, Secretary NSS and Dr. Shekhar Jain, Director NSS along with student coordinator’s Mr. Umesh Dangi (B. Sc. Agriculture III year) and Mr. Pratik Sharma (B. Sc. Microbiology III year). At the end of program, Dr. Shekhar Jain expressed vote of thanks to all.
Outcome:
Celebration of women’s day, honors women’s accomplishments, promotes gender parity and gender equality. This invited lecture helps the students in the ideas to create their own startup, enhanced career prospects. It also helps to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry demands. It created a dynamic ecosystem where students, faculty and professionals can collaborate, learn, and grow. The synergy of ideas, experiences and knowledge will foster a vibrant community where everyone can thrive.
