Title: “ Photography Competition ” on the Street and Candid

Brief Description/ Remarks:

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a Photography Competition on March 25, 2023, at 10:30 AM for the UG and PG students of Mandsaur University. The theme for the competition was to encourage students to capture the vibrancy and energy of urban life, from bustling city streets to quiet alleyways. Moreover it aimed to capture the essence of a person, or a particular type of person (e.g. children, elderly individuals, or people from a certain culture).

The competition was held virtually, and students participated by submitting their entries through a Google Form. The event was designed to make participants aware of aesthetic photography vis a vis candid and street photography. A total of 40 students participated in the competition and demonstrated their interesting and creative photography skills.

Mr. Shakir Hussain, Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism, and Mr. Ingerlos Karam, Assistant Professor in the same department, were the judges of the competition.

Ayushi Devda for Street Photography from B.Tech CSC and Saloni Dhanotia of BAJMC for Candid Photography respectively, were awarded the first prize. Arman Saini was awarded the second prize and Yuvraj Singh was awarded the third prize. Congratulations to all the winners!

Outcome:  This activity helped students develop technical skills, creativity, time management, and confidence in the field of photography.
