Brief description / remarks:Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University had organized a one-week online national training entitled “Biological Data Analysis Using Excel And PowerPoint (BDAEP-2022)” for UG, PG students & Research scholars from 24th January, 2022 – 30th January, 2022. The aim of the seminar was to provide awareness among student about basic tools and techniques in Biological Data Mining and Bioinformatics using Excel & PowerPoint with introductory sessions in Computers Science. A total 36 candidates had registered for the training. The event successfully coordinated by the Mr. Sulagno Chakraborty, & Mr. Yogendra K. Verma, Asst. Professors, Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University. Prof. (Dr.) Arunava Das, Dean & Head, Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University conveyed thanks to the coordinators for organizing this program for our Life Science students and also for the other University students.

Outcome: This online training provided a detailed hands on knowledge about the basics of computers, operating systems, data processing, data mining, bioinformatics, excel and PowerPoint. Students also got an exposure to various databases to look for relevant, solving assignment problems, as well as career prospective in the emerging field of Bioinformatics. This training enriched and motivated the students to interact, exchanged ideas and new perspective to approach a problem in biological sciences and get inspired. At the end, the coordinators answered all the questions raised by the participants. The students had given very positive feedback about the workshop.
