Workshop on Food and Beverage Service Operations
Food and Beverage Service is the core department among four operational departments of Hotel Industry. So, department of tourism and hospitality has organized a practical workshop adjunct lecture for the students of the department. Presently Mr. Sumit Kumar is a General Manager in 1559 A.D., Hotel Lake Pichola, Udaipur (A very beautiful Grand heritage hotel in Udaipur). He has more than 12 years of experience in Food and beverage service department, event management, restaurant & bar operation and management etc. in some other five-star hotels of Udaipur and different places. Workshop was started on 12th September on 09:30 AM. Workshop was organized in two sessions, one is before the lunch and one is after the lunch. First half is for theory classes and second half is for practical classes in our lab “Training Restaurant”.
Students get to know how F&B service department works in hotel and what kind of work is done by hospitality professionals. In practical session students practiced self-practice of all the procedures of restaurant and bar operations. The knowledge of serving to the guest is very pivotal because guest is always right in hospitality industry. Guests would have to be satisfied by your hospitality. How to prepare a table for the guest, what utensils are important on the table and where is to be situated. What are the names of the crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. are the basic things for the food and beverage service department. All these practices were performed by the students in this workshop.
