workshop for 3 days on Printing Techniques

Department of Fashion Design organized an online workshop for 3 days on “Printing Techniques”. In this workshop, students learnt about Block printing and Stencil printing and their variations. As the technique is used in various fields of fashion designing, so it was fruitful to learn for the students. Hand block printing and Stencil are not limited to India only. It has its wings spread over many other parts of the world. UK, China, Japan, Peru, etc are the places where this printing technique is used. It is quite famous amongst many fashion zones and various experiments are done in it in order to make it contemporary. This print can easily be accessed anywhere in the country. But if special effects are required then Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat are best known.  Ms. Shraddha explained and demonstrated the how to prepare blocks and stencil for printings and what types of design will created by using this technique  and apply on to the different articles.   Students have learned its methods and prepared the articles like t-Shirt, kurti, purses by using block and stencil printing techniques. 

• Students have learned about various printing techniques and they understood the block and stencil printing in detail.
• Students, learned about alternates of blocks, they were prepared the design using potato and applied as block and  they  were also prepared the articles by using these techniques. 

Students very much enjoyed this workshop and they said they will prepare other article for sale purpose.
