In continuation with its tradition of preserving the environment and having eco-friendly activities, the Social Awareness & Environment Sustenance Club (NSS Unit) of Mandsaur University in association with Bajaj Electricals Ltd conducted a “Tree plantation program” on 05.12.2022. The program began with welcoming of Mr. Ritesh Neema, Regional Manager; Mr. Chiman Bhati, Area Manager, and other members of Bajaj Electricals Ltd by Dr. Shekhar Jain, Director NSS, MU. Initially, Mr. Ritesh Neema interacted with the NSS volunteers and exchanged the information about various activities carried out and future goals for the environment sustenance and societal development. The campaign’s main aim was to direct student’s mind in constructive activities with the positive outcome through the facilitation of contribution to the society. The NSS Volunteers participated in the plantation drive enthusiastically and helped each other in planting the saplings. All the saplings were planted in MU campus-1 premises. The NSS Volunteers along with the teachers and members of Bajaj Electricals Ltd also took an oath to look after the planted saplings, plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same.  At the end of the program, Dr. Shekhar Jain praised the NSS volunteer’s efforts and encouraged them for keeping such practice in daily life and spread message of saving trees in the society.

The program was successfully coordinated by the faculty coordinator Ms. Teena Yadav (Secretary NSS) and Mr. Dayashankar Singh (Coordinator Campus 1) along with student coordinator Umesh Dangi (B. Sc. Agriculture II year), Pratik Sharma (B. Sc. Microbiology II year) and Bharat Choudhary (BBA I year).

Outcome:Trees are most important natural resources on the earth for the survival of living beings. Therefore, It is our moral responsibility to conserve it with the efforts in planting as well nurturing the trees. Voluntarily participation in this program strengthened NSS volunteer’s responsibility towards environment sustenance. Such little steps taken together by students surely help in fostering strong mental and social health amongst today’s youths so that they connect with their peers, their elders, their community and their environment.
