Brief description / remarks:
The Faculty of Agriculture Sciences, Mandsaur University organised an online international webinar on “Technologies to Upheaval the Traditional Agriculture: An Update”. The event was organized on the platform google meet as well as through live streaming on YouTube. The overall event was hosted by Dr. Mainu Hazarika (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Agriculture Sciences); She welcomed the participants and guest speakers with gratefulness. Following to that Dr. S.N. Mishra (Section Head, Genetics and Plant Breeding Department, Faculty of Agriculture Sciences) addressed the gathering. After that, Dr. Praveen Kumar (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Agriculture Sciences) gave brief introduction of invited lead speaker to participants; while extending gratitude towards him for sparing his valuable time for webinar. The resource person Dr. Prashant Kaushik (Senior Scientist, Nagano University, Japan) presented the lecture on the topic “Technologies to Upheaval the Traditional Agriculture: An Update”. First of all, the resource person highlighted the recent scenario of Indian Agriculture, issues and challenges faced by farmers, scope for innovation etc. Then after that, he also explained different technologies such as Autonomous Robots, Agriculture Sensors, Aerial crop Imaging, GPS, Vertical and Indoor farming, Fish farm and aquaponics, Insect Protein, Cultured Meat, New Seed Varieties etc.
The webinar was attended by more than 120 participants. Optimum time was provided to participants to discuss their doubts with expert speakers. At the end of the session participants were asked for feedback on google meet. Audience remarked that the session was very informative and useful to enhanced their knowledge. In the feedback session Dr. Praveen Kumar, said that the session was very knowledgeful and Informative. After feedback session, at the end Dr. Mainu Hazarika (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Agriculture Sciences) offered formal vote of thanks to the guest speakers and participants. Feedback is collected from participants through google form and E-Certificates are distributed to all the participants.
Outcomes:
- Participants were aware about the recent Agriculture scenario in India, issues and challenges faced by farmers, scope for innovation etc
- Participants got acquainted with the different new technologies such as Autonomous Robots, Agriculture Sensors, Aerial crop Imaging, GPS, Vertical and Indoor farming, Fish farm and aquaponics, Insect Protein, Cultured Meat, New Seed Varieties etc. to upheaval the traditional Agriculture
