Title:  “Participation in District Level PRD Camp program”

Brief description/ Remarks: 

The Pre RD Camp is organized prior to Republic Day Camp in order to select NSS Volunteers who are good in discipline, March-past and cultural activities. A Contingent of selected NSS volunteers participates in the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi on 26th of January every year in accordance with the guidelines and requisition of the Ministry of Defence. With the objective of selection in PRD Camp at District Level, two NSS volunteers Ms. Prachi Solanki and Ms. Aashavini Pandya (B.Sc Biotechnology III Semester) of Social Awareness & Environment Sustenance Club (NSS Unit) of Mandsaur University have participated in the screening procedure on 25th September 2023 at Govt. P.G. College Mandsaur. Volunteers from various universities were present for the screening process. The screening process started with intellectual session by Dr. KR Suryavanshi, District Coordinator, NSS, Mandsaur followed by height measurement carried by NCC Captain Mr. Satpal Singh. Afterwards the volunteers were checked for flat foot or knock knee by Grenadier Gopal. The screening continues with race of 1 km in minimum time interval and march past for about 20 minutes.  The volunteers were also tested for giving or listening to commands from 25 meters. Both the volunteers have represented MU upto the last level and participated very energetically. The participation was successfully coordinated by the faculty coordinator Ms. Teena Yadav (Secretary NSS). Dr. Shekhar Jain, Director NSS praised the volunteers for their devotion and hard work.

Outcome:

PRD Camp provides ample opportunities to the NSS volunteers not only to interact among themselves but also to learn and know the tradition, custom, culture, language of one state to another. These volunteers, after a month long stay together in the camp, become capable to present themselves in the better way and constitute a bond of patriotism, national integration, brotherhood, communal harmony which is the ultimate goal of the camp.
