Title: “Participation in District Level Neighborhood Youth Parliament 

Brief description/ Remarks: 

Youth are a major human resource for development and thus, key agents of social change, economic development and technological innovation. This is a vital, vibrant and dynamic human resource bearing the future state of not only India, but also the entire world. Neighborhood Parliaments are places where every local person can get involved in creating a thriving and resilient community. The NSS volunteers of the Social Awareness & Environment Sustenance Club (NSS Unit) of Mandsaur University participated in District Level Neighborhood Youth Parliament organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Mandsaur at Govt. PG College Mandsaur on 22.02.2023. The main purpose behind this program is to educate the volunteers of young age group about contemporary socio-economic development issues confronting local communities in general and the youth in particular and to involve them in debate or discussions on such issues. During the program, eminent Speakers delivered talk on contemporary issues like Good Governance, G-20, Youth Participation in Govt. Schemes, etc.  Two students from Mandsaur University namely, Paras Adaniya (B. Sc. Hons. Agriculture) and Kashika Porwal (B. Pharma) also expressed their views on the topic G-20. 

Dr. Shekhar Jain, NSS Program Officer, MU has addressed the students and motivated for innovation and startup through Govt. Schemes for resolving the societal issues. Thereafter, Dr. K.R. Suryavanshi, NSS District coordinator, interacted with MU NSS coordinator students and discussed about different activities. The program proceeded with the motivational and energetic addressing of Mr. Sudhir Gupta, the MP from Mandsaur followed by cultural programs.

Towards the end, Dr. Shekhar Jain, Director NSS praised the volunteers for their devotion and hard work. The participation was successfully coordinated by the faculty coordinator Ms. Teena Yadav (Secretary NSS) with student’s coordinator Mr. Umesh Dangi (Faculty of Agriculture), Mr. Pratik Sharma (Faculty of Life Science) and Mr. Aman Singh (Faculty of Pharmacy).

Outcome: 

Such activities develop the values and skills among the youth so that they become productive, responsible citizens of modern India.  It motivates the students to involve them in nation building activities and work towards promoting an environment where all-irrespective of caste, color, sex or religion- find equal opportunity to serve the nation and pursue self-sufficiency in resources.
