Title: National Librarian Day Celebration

Brief Description: Department of Library & Information Science was celebrated Librarian’s Day, 2021 on 12th August 2021 at Central Library during 10.00 AM – 12:00 PM. The programme started at 10:30 AM with lamp lighting by the Brig (Dr) Bharat Singh Rawat, Vice Chancellor, Mandsaur University, Dr. Shailendra Sharma, Dean Academic, Con. Anand Kumar, Dean Administration, Dr. Deepak Kher, Director, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Lokeshwar Singh Jodhana, Dr. Nilesh Jain, Dr. Manish Jaisal, Pratik Gupta, and More HODs Mandsaur University. The programme was organized to pay tribute to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan (The Father of Library Science) on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of him. With the progress of programme, Dr. Ravindra Kumar, HOD, Department of Library & Information Science, welcomed honorable Vice Chancellor sir Brig (Dr) Bharat Singh Rawat and all the Staff Members/Students of library and highlights the achievements of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan. Addressing the participants by him, He informed that National Librarians’ Day is celebrated in India on August 12 in remembrance of Padmashree Dr Ranganathan, has been affectionately described as the father of Library Science in India, on account of his tireless efforts to professionalize library education in India. All library staff members from the Departmental and Central Library of Mandsaur University; was grace the occasion with their presence. The programme was organized by Dr. A. Pal & Intier all library team. Photographs of the programme are attached below.
Outcome: Pay tribute to the father of Library Science Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. Respect towards the library and the vital role of a librarian in moulding and shaping the readers.
