Brief description/ Remarks:  

The Faculty of Life sciences, Mandsaur university organized an Industry Expert Lecture entitled “Job Opportunities for Biosciences graduates in Pharmaceutical Industry” for the UG/PG students of Life Sciences on 23th November, 2022. The key speaker for this event was Mr. Vaibhav Kikani, Assistant Manager, Amneal Pharma, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. 

The program started with the welcome note and industry expert felicitation by Prof. (Dr.) Arunava Das, Dean & Head, Faculty of Life sciences followed by brief introduction of guest speaker to the participants by Dr. Shekhar Jain, Associate Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences. 

During his interactive session, Mr. Vaibhav Kikani thoroughly discussed about the different jobs available for the biosciences graduates in various sectors of pharmaceutical industries like QA, QC, R&D, Production etc. He also enlightens the students about the importance of different subjects covered under the UG program of Microbiology and Biotechnology in the pharmaceutical industries. He encouraged students to develop practical skills to become competent for the pharmaceutical industry jobs. During the question-answer session, he interacted with all students and answered all the questions raised in a very elaborative and informative way.

The expert lecture concluded successfully with a vote of thanks expressed by Dr. Shekhar Jain, Associate Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences.

Outcome: This Industry Expert lecture enlightened the students about the importance of Microbiology and Biotechnology programs in pharmaceutical sector and huge job opportunities in the industries for biosciences graduates. Such type of Academia-Industry interactions also helps us to understand the need of industry and accordingly transformation of students at academic level to meet the industry jobs requirement.
