Guest Lecture on Total Quality Management & Statistical Quality Control

The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted the one-day guest lecture on the subject Total Quality Management & Statistical Quality Control (TQM & SQC) for the students of B-Tech IV& VI semester on 27th March 2019.The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ajay Sarathe from National Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR) Bhopal.
Dr.Sarathe opened the session with the importance of quality in the field of Production.He covered the following topics :

TQM tools- Benchmarking: Definition, concepts, benefits, elements, reasons for bench marking, process of bench marking, FMEA, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) – House of Quality, QFD Process, Benefits, Taguchi Quality Loss Function, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) – Concept and need.

Students have learned about TQM tools, Benchmarking and its Definition, concepts, benefits, elements, reasons for bench marking, process of bench marking, FMEA, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) – House of Quality, QFD Process, Benefits, Taguchi Quality Loss Function, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) – Concept and need.

The whole activity was coordinated by Dr Haider Hussain.
