Fashion Seminar

Department of Fashion Design successfully conducted a “Fashion Seminar” by renowned Fashion Designers Ms Manvi Bhandari and Mr Savio Dsouza from Mumbai on 4 June 2017. Professor Dr D K Patnaik,  Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Khatri, Director DBMS and International Affairs, Mrs Shweta Nahata, Director MIS, dignitaries and all the renowned guests were present.

Ms Manvi is the freelancing designer who had worked with L. S. Raheja. She had also assisted Ms NAZIA POLLY HAFEEZ and Ms NUPUR KANOI at Lakme Fashion Week 2016 and 2017. She had participated in various exhibitions at national and international level. Presently, she is working with Julie, a distinguished Mumbai-based designer.

Mr Savio the fashion expert who had assisted as an illustrator and stylist to the astounding designer SHIRAZ SIDDIQUE and MEGHA TONDON. He, too, had assisted Ms NAZIA POLLY HAFEEZ and Ms NUPUR KANOI at Lakme Fashion Week 2016 and 2017.

The entire event was truly remarkable with the great audience turnout. There was an interactive session focusing on the different aspects of fashion and career opportunities available in the field of fashion design. Ms Manvi and Mr Savio advocated the students to work according to the latest trends, how to forecast the styles and colours for the upcoming collection. They have also taught the students the process of designing that is how to create the mood boards, storyboards and theme board for making the trendsetting collection which optimises perfect ease and elegance.
