Van Mahotsav
Faculty of Agriculture Sciences organized Van Mahotsava in July 2021 at Mandsaur University. The festival was inaugurated by Brig. (Dr.) Bharat Singh Rawat, (Rtd.) Vice-Chancellor, Mandsaur University on 16th July 2021 at Campus-1 in the presence of Dr. Shailendra Sharma, Dean Academics, Col. Rtd. Anand Kumar, Dean Administration, Dr. Ashish Parikh, Registrar, HODs and other faculty members. In continuation to the approved plan, Van Mahotsava was also celebrated in Campus-2 on 31st July 2021 in the presence of Dr. Amit Jain (Dean Pharmacy), Mrs. Deepali Wilson Principal Mandsaur International School (MIS), and other faculty members were also present. Around 325 plants of forest tree and fruit trees viz. Pentophoroum, Shisum, Karanj, Sitafa, Jamun, Belpatra, Peepal, etc. were planted in both the campuses of Mandsaur University. Dr. Deepak Kher, Director Agriculture, briefed the importance of celebration of Van Mahotsava festival. He informed that it is an annual tree plantation festival celebrated by planting tree or sampling in homes, School, Offices and Colleges. The planting of tree during this festival serves various purposes like providing alternative fuel, increase food resources; provide food for cattle, other shade and decorative land-scapes. The trees are one best ways to prevent global warming and reduce pollution. The festival concluded with the vote of thanks by Director Agriculture. He thanked all the authorities of the University for their support. He also thanked Dr. Afrayeem Syed (Farm Manager & A.P.), Dr. Sanjay Singh (Assoc. Prof.) Mr. Indresh (A.P.) and other faculty members of Faculty of Agriculture Sciences for their support in successfully celebrating the festival of Van Mahotsava 2021 in Mandsaur University.
