Brief description / remarks:The Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University had organized two-days Seminar on “Recent Trends and Opportunities in Life Sciences (RTOLS-2021) for the UG and PG students and faculty members from 30 December to 31 December 2021. The aim of the seminar was to provide awareness among student about recent trends and opportunities in life sciences. Prof. (Dr.) Arunava Das, Dean and Head of Faculty of Life Sciences and Convenor of the seminar formally welcomed and introduced the guests to the participants. Presidential Address of the programme was given by Mr. Bridreth Khokhare, Chief Scientist & Founder, Science on Wheels Pvt. Ltd., Punjab. He has highlighted about the Neutraceutical- Solution to emerging lifestyle disorders. The Inaugural Address was given by Dr. Vijay Upadhaya, Deputy Director, Centre of Research for Development, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujrat. He shared his research work and talked about the initiation of startup- today’s need. Introduction about speakers given by Dr. Ashish Warghane, Associate Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences and the Organising Secretary of the seminar. Shri Vishalini R, Chief Executive Officer, Build Geeks Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu talked about the The ‘WH’S of career in biology. Mr. Vinod A B, Associate Principal Scientist – DMPK, Laxai Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad gave lecture on DMPK in Drug discovery. The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohammad Irfan Ali, Associate Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences and the Organising Secretary of the seminar. The program was successful due to the contribution made by the students and faculty members of faculty of life sciences. A total of 50 students and 12 faculty members attended the program.
Outcome: This seminar provided a detailed knowledge to enrich and motivate the students and provides opportunities to meet people, exchange or develop ideas, new strategies to approach, establish collaborations, getting suggestions about their work, and get inspired. At the end the guest speaker answered all the questions raised by the participants. The students found the workshop very interested and informative.
