News Anchoring Contest

News anchoring contest was organized as a part of the centralized activity of Mandsaur University to refine the talent of News anchoring among the students. The competition was attended by 17 students from different departments of the University who had to present News like a professional news anchor. Participants were assessed at 5 levels, which included their language, voice, attire, body language and performance.

All participants in the news anchoring competition had performed exceptionally well. The members of the jury for this contest were Dr. Chanda Kothari (DAS News Anchor & Reader) and senior journalist Mr. Nemichand Rathore. Members gave their decision, giving first place to Arshi Khan from J.M.C and the second place to Alfiya Jamali from D.BM.C.

Apart from this, two other awards were also given which were awarded to Junaid Ahmed for Best Attire and Shain Mansuri for Best Voice.

While mastering students for news anchoring during the event, Dr. Chanda Kothari said that as a news anchor one should focus mainly on the accent of words, voice, intonation and expressions of face. Speaking about the nuances of news anchoring, the other jury member Mr. Nemichand Rathore enlightened students on functioning of the electronic media as per the global scenario.

In the end, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shailendra Sharma and Registrar Prof. Ashish Parikh presented with a memento to the guests. The vote of thanks was given by Prof. Anurag Trivedi, Head-Journalism and Mass Communication. On this occasion, Dr. Lokeshver Singh Jodhana (Head-Tourism & Hospitality), Prof. Avinash Vikram (Head- D.B.M.C), Prof. Ashish Agrawal and other staff members of various departments of the University were also present.
