Brief description / remarks:The Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University had organized an adjunct lecture on “Introduction & history of plant pathology and control of plant diseases” for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology VI Semester at 12:00pm on 7th April, 2022. The main objective of this adjunct lecture was to enlighten the attendee about the introduction and history of plant pathology. Prof. (Dr.) Arunava Das, Dean and Head of Faculty of Life Sciences formally welcomed and introduced the guest to the participants. During the lecture Dr. Rajendra Gade thoroughly discussed various aspects of symptoms, etiology, life cycle and control of plant disease. Dr. Rajendra Gade also talked about the causes of plant diseases, the mechanisms by which diseases develop in individual plants and in plant populations, and the ways and means by which plant diseases can be managed or controlled. The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ashish Warghane, Associate Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences.
Outcome: This adjunct lecture provided a detail information about biological control of plant diseases involves the use of organisms other than humans to reduce or prevent infection by a pathogen. After the lecture students interacted with the guest via chat and live discussion, where speaker explained all queries with their answers in details.
