Pharmaceutical Alumni Association Mandsaur (PAAM) organized 4th Alumni meet at Hotel Infiniti Indore

With more than 75 alumni from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahemdabad, Vadodara, Gwalior, Indore, and Ujjain we had an amazing participation from almost all the 14 batches at the meet. It was very nice to see familiar faces after a long time.alu

BRNCOP was represented by its Chairman Mr Surendra Nahata, Dr Anurekha Jain, Principal BRNCOP, Mr Sanjay Jain, President PAAM. The whole atmosphere at the Hotel Infiniti, Indore which was the venue for the meet was filled with memories and experience related to B R Nahata College of Pharmacy. The event was carried out as informal interactions over snacks and dinner, which helped exchange views and opinions from the alumni. The updated video of the campus left alumni of older batches surprised. This also encouraged them to come and visit again BRNCOP.

An International Seminar:

Department of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry under the auspices of B R Nahata College of Pharmacy s1conducted an AICTE sponsored international seminar on the theme “An international Seminar on latest Developments in Drug Discovery and Development and their economic utilization as per global perspective”.


Rakhi Khabiya, Assistant Professor at B.R. Nahata College of Pharmacy, Mandsaur got R. V. Patel awrd“PHARMINNOVA AWARD” for best M. Pharm. dissertation work in the year 2012. In the award distribution ceremony she was awarded with prize money of Rs 31,000/-, trophy, certificate and her guide received cash money of Rs 25,000/-. The event was organized by Ranibhai V. Patel Trust under the patronage of Department of Science and Technology. Chief guest of the eve was Hon’ble Dr. A P J Kalam, Former President of India and guest of honor was Dr. T. Ramasami, Secretary to Government of India, Department of Science and Technology.

The Training and Placement cell of BRNCOP facilitates the placement of students by interacting with many pharma companies and invite the companies for campus interview, either send the students to companies for interview or conduct online test. This year also 6 companies conducted campus drive for BRNCOP students. List of the companies is as follows:-

In month of April, UNICHEM LABORATORIES LTD, MUMBAI and CARE STREAM INDIA PVT LTD have conducted campus drive.

Unichem Laboratories Limited, Mumbai came for the post of Business Manager in which 68 students from various colleges participated. Placement of students was divided into two sessions: Preliminary screening test and HR interview. Interview has been taken by HR Vinnethan Nambiar and Swapnil Nayer. Students qualifying screening test finally entered into HR interview.

After both the rounds, total 13 students got selected for the post of Business Manager at the initial package of Rs 2 lakh, out of which 7 were from BRNCOP.

Also two students viz. Himanshu Rathore and Rahul Pareek got selected in Care Stream India Pvt. Ltd.

In the month of May, Macleods Pharmaceuticals Limited, a Global Pharmaceutical Company conducted campus drive for production department. Inteview has been conducted by Mr. Sai Dutta Nanda (Vice President Corporate HR), Mr. Baldeo Thakur (Sr. HR Manager Baddi) and by Mr. Amar Agrawal  (Sr. Production Manager).

An orientation program was held at BRNCOP before the start of new session to welcome and greet first year students. In the ceremony, Chairman, Shri Narendra Nahata guided the students on their career. A heartly welcome was given to the students to make them feel comfortable with the new environment and to consider themselves as a part of Mandsaur Eduniverse family.

New Efforts at BRNCOP for Higher Education

Looking to the current status of students qualifying GPAT, GPAT classes has been started at BRNCOP for B. Pharm. V and VII sem students from 1st August, 2014 by competent team of GPAT qualified faculties. These classes would benefit the students in qualifying GPAT and other competitive exams (NIPER-JEE, other universities entrance exams and government jobs entrance exams) and move for higher education with schoralship of 1,92,000/- from MHRD. Teaching is done via innovative techniques such as powerpoint presentation and online videos to make tutorials more interesting and easy. Students are even provided with study material after completion of topic.

Career guidance sessions by Alumni:

B. R. Nahata College of Pharmacy’s Mandsaur Pharmaceutical Society and Pharmaceutical Alumni Enlighten Enlighten 1Association of Mandsaur organized career guidance sessions in the year 2013-2014. Interaction session was held on International Pharmacist day. Eminent alumni working as community pharmacist in government sector and as entrepreneurs were invited to deliver lectures for enlightment of our students. They highlighted the role of pharmacist in the community and career opportunities in pharmacy.

On 15 Feb, 2014 another student alumni interaction session entitled as “Enlighten 2014” was organized in which clinical research expert Dr Manoj Sharma (Manager, Panacea Biotech Global Pharmacovigilance, New Delhi) and Senior scientist Mr. Chandraprakash Singh (Wokardt Pharmaceuticals, Aurangabad) were invited. Dr Manoj Sharma briefed the students about job profiles in various disciplines of pharmacy such as community pharmacist, research scientist, QA/QC manager, analytical chemist, production manager, marketing manager, regulatory manager, clinical research scientist and food and drug inspector with special emphasis on clinical research covering its different aspects such as opportunities as clinical research associate, clinical data manager, pharmacovigilance, medical writing and medical coding. In the next session, reputed speaker Mr. Chandraprakash Singh explained analytical method development and regulatory affairs related to generic drugs.


Macleod’s Pharmaceutical Ltd, Mumbai would be conducting exclusive campus drive for its Baddi and Sikkim plant; D.Pharm./ITI/Diploma in Engineering/B.Sc. students in QA, QC, Packaging and R&D department on 3-4 May 2014.

Aids Awareness Campaign By BRNCOP Students:

Red ribbon club of BRNCOP organized a campaign on AIDS awareness on 27th April, 2014 in Krishi Upaj Mandi aidsaidsParisar. Rally marched from BRNCOP campus to Krishi Upaj Mandi Parisar with raising slogans. Students made a human chain symbolizing AIDS ribbon and informed local people on causes, preventions and treatment of AIDS. In this rally Principal BRNCOP, Dr Anurekha Jain and all faculties were present and the campaign was coordinated by MPS President, Mr. Rahul Trivedi.

Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) is a status which is accorded by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India, to those institutions which maintain a strong culture of industrial R&D in their organization with state-of-the-art instruments and equipments. Industries which invest in SIROs get 200% income tax benefit on their investment. The institute is committed to massive academia-industry interaction so that all the knowledge generated/ imparted in the institute is put to use. In this context B. R. Nahata College of Pharmacy is First Pharmacy Institution in the entire Central India to having been accorded with the status of SIRO. For its technopreneurship program, which is aimed at commercialization of innovative ideas under Dept of Scientific & Industrial Research, GOI, the recognition has basically come because of the research and industry collaboration initiatives taken up by the institution. The institute received its approval for the third consecutive term upto 31 March 2017.

Glimpses of EUPHORIA 2014:

B.R. Nahata College of Pharmacy has been hosting its cultural fest from many years. This time the college came 17 up with EUPHORIA-2014, meaning intense feeling of happiness. It was a ten days long event with celebration starting from 18th – 28th February, 2014 in the institute premises. The event was Kaleidoscope of cultural, literary, arts and creation and sports activity.

Women’s Day Celebration:

B. R. Nahata College of Pharmacy celebrated “Internation Women’s Day” (8 March, 2014) with the theme of WomensDay“Equality for women is the progress of all”. On this day, an extempore competition was held in the college campus in which students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The purpose of celebration was to reflect respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political, and social achievements. Payal Sharma hold first position, second position by Shivani Sharma and Jai Rathore and third postion was bagged by Tarun Soni. College organizes such type of several events to upbring students talent, skills and to boost up their confidence.


Two days training program on “Industrially Applied Sophisticated Instruments” was held at BRNCOP, Mandsaur traning(M.P.) on 11-12, April, 2014. The main objective of this training program was to provide practical training on sophisticated equipments like HPTLC, HPLC, FT-IR,etc to the students. After the successful completion of this training, students were found familiar to the operational knowledge regarding these instruments. This training program helped in boosting up the confidence of students so that they could face any type of interview either National or International, without fear and get admitted in professional courses.

Approximately 100 students from different areas of M.P. such as Mandsaur, Indore, Ujjain, Bhanpura etc participated in the training program. In the training program, theoretical and practical aspects of various equipments that are used in manufacturing of medicines as well as in research were discussed by expertise faculty members

Awarded Gold Medal:Rakhi

Rakhi Khabiya (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Analysis) have been awarded gold medal and book voucher of worth Rs 10,000/- in the second convocation of NIPER-Ahmedabad for achieving first position during her M.S. (Pharm.) in Natural Products branch and overall second position in NIPER-Ahmedabad respectively in batch 2010-2012.

B. R. NAHATA COLLEGE OF PHARMACY 2nd year students organized fresher party for their juniors. The very purpose of fresher day party was to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere and to avoid social evils, to encourage their creative impulses and to boost their confidence.

The party continued till late in the evening as the crowd danced to the DJ. The highlight of the event was fashion show, during which the new student walked down the ramp adding fun to the evening. The stars of the event were DIVYA SHARMA (Miss Fresher) and DILIP SURYAVANSHI (Mr.Fresher). The junior surprised the gathering by setting the floor on fire with dance show and also by their great singing.
